pool heaters

We are about ready to sign with pb. Our choice is to go with a heat pump for the pool and a propane heater for the spa. We are in cental Florida, but from Chicago. We use the pool and spa all year around and think this is the most efficient way to go. No natural gas. Anyone ever used electic heater on a spa? thanks for any help Jeff

I always use my heat pumps to heat my spa when I have the luxury of time to wait for the hot water.
When I want to heat the spa fast I use my propane heaters.
If your pool is a pool/spa combo you can have your plumber plumb them in a manner that you can use either the heat pump or the gas fired heater for both pool/spa (just place the heat pump upstream from the gas fired heater), and if your in a big hurry you can turn both on at the same time to get really quick heat.
