Help, Is my sport pool too deep?

Help, They already poured the concrete shell in my pool and now I am concerned that it is way too deep. I built a 20X40 sports pool that is 4' -5'-4'. I think that I should have done 3.6' - 4' - 3.6. Having the shallow ends at 4' feet seems way to deep for my kids to hang out and play basketball and throw the ball. It is only 4' in a small area because of the grade it keeps getting deeper until the middle is 5 ft. Should I pay to fill in the pool and make it more shallow? Is it worth it? How much do you think it would cost to change? I have four boys 13, 10, ,4 and want a sports pool. Thanks

Hi Sunshelf, i think you probably should have gone with the 3'6" but your kids will grow up and depends how tall they are. My shallow end is 4' and my daughter is 12 years and is 5'7" tall and the 4' works out fine. I would check to see what it would cost to add some gunite. If it is affordable, do it. If outside your budget, just leave it...the kids will play and have fun any way.
