pool wall thickness/steel specs

Pool Experts,

PB finished tearing out the pool, and is getting ready to rebuild.

Can you please let me know what is the standard thickness of pool walls and bond beams, and what is standard for steel?

Our orig. pool specs for a 16'x 36' pool with 32' infinity edge and 3'x 36' gutter pool called for 1'thick walls everywhere. Pool builder has finished tearing out the pool, and wants to rebuild with a 6" wall and floor and 1' bond beam. The weir wall will be 1' from bottom up. Is this sufficient?

Also, is there anything special I need to look for re:steel. Using a different sub than last time. He used several sizes of steel on 9" centers.

Wall thickness, bond beam size and steel placement/size will vary across the country depending on soil conditions and other factors. Your basic description are pretty standard pool specs.
Ask your PB for an engineered steel plan with a wet stamp. It is normally included in the permit package from the building department. Most pool steel engineered plans are generic, so you might need to have a close look for the engineering on the dam wall of the negative edge. Or you may need a specially engineered plan for the wall. Good luck.
