New Pool Build in Beautiful Setting NW Houston, TX

Cypress3

After studying this forum for months I am now posting the results. I found this forum very helpful for selecting pool builders to bid, equipment to select and how different tile, coping and decking choices would look. I am sure I would be going with white plaster if I had not found this forum. Instead I am now struggling to pick which Pebble Tec or Sheen to use.

Pool specs;

Free form gunite pool 94ft perimeter with 9x7 spa

3.5 to 5.5 depth

All Pentair equipment including variable speed pump

Legend cleaner

Lights are intellibrites ( 2 in pool, 1 in spa)

Moss rock weeping wall

Sun shelf with bubbler

2 sprayers to help cool the pool

Bean shaped spa with cascading flagstone spillway

Pebble Tec/ Sheen

Flagstone coping

Decking pea gravel with flagstone inlays.

It appears you can't post pictures from Photobucket to this forum with an iPad so will post pictures when I dust off my laptop.

It is now day 13 of the pool build and a lot has happened. On day 7 of the pool build my poor PB was admitted to hospital ICU with Bilateral Pneumonia!!! Even from hospital she was responding to emails within an hour instead of her usual 5 mins and she kept the pool on schedule, amazing. Since the last post the electricians have been, a clean up crew and the tiling, coping and moss rock weeping wall is finished.

This pool is being built so fast it is hard to keep up posting the progress. Day 13 the decking crew arrived and laid the drainage followed by the pea gravel, leaving room for flagstone inserts. Day 15 of the pool build the tiling crew came back to finish the flagstone inserts in the decking and the sun shelf. Day 17 Modern Method Gunite arrived two days ahead of schedule to install the Blue Granite Pebble Sheen with shells. Tomorrow, Day 18 of the pool build, is acid wash and we start filling the pool. We should be swimming after Pool School on day 21 of pool build!! Amazing.

Day 19 The pool is full of water, exciting. The clean up crew did such a good job you would not believe a new pool had just been installed. Pool start up scheduled for day 20 of pool build.
Well done Best Backyard Pools, Kathy, Johnny and Linda. Thanks also to Melissa and especially George at Modern Method Gunite with help in choosing the Pebble Sheen color, the hardest decision of the whole pool build!
    Love how the pool looks.

And may I say something about the pool owner...a delight to work with, enthusiastic and someone who cares about the workers on the job site. She provided drinks, snacks and lunches every day. You don't realize how meaningfull that can be. She treats the crews like she would like to be treated if she were in their place. Great person!

Cypress, you probably have found out that you can post photobucket pics from your iPad...but, you need to do it through the free Photobucket app.

Can highly recommend Best Backyard Pools of Houston for anyone considering a pool builder in Houston. Not only did Kathy do a great job building the pool in an amazing time frame, 20 days from first dig to water in the pool, her response time to resolve post completion issues has been equally impressive. I have had a few issues come up, none of which were Kathy's fault but she responded immediately by phone or email and had the necessary tradespeople out within a day to resolve the problem, fantastic service.
