Pool Umbrellas

Our pool is finally done and now we are looking for an umbrella for our acapulco shelf. Does it matter what it is made of? Common sense says rust free aluminum. Found a wood one at Lowes that we like. Any suggestions on where to buy one and what material it should be? Thanks in advance.

Wood will swell in the water - definitely not recommended.

Sunbrella fabrics seem to get good reviews.

If you think it might be left up in something like a thunder storm, might look for flexible (fiberglass?) ribs.

My favorite is the $39 one at Garden Ridge because they are...ummm...$39.

I purchased some last year that were $250 and they are broken now, the $39 ones are still going strong.

Like mentioned above, stay away from wood.

We got ours from good old Wal Mart for $60. It's made of polywood, so no expanding...it's great so far.
