Help! Plate Compactor

Posted by jeffandhollie (My Page) on

I am hearing mixed feedback on taking a plate compactor on top of travertine pavers. Some rental places are saying that without anything in between, the steel plate will crack the travertine pavers. However, no on carries a plate compactor with a rubber base....

Any one have any ideas for me?

I would not use a plate compactor without a rubber pad on any pavers or stone. Many rental places do not carry the pad, and they are not cheap to buy. I can't understand that either. May be ask at a stone/paver supply yard where to rent one.

When our pavers were laid, the sand was compacted. Not the pavers.
