We're moving ahead with a saltwater pool (I have eczema and it's way nicer on my skin than a regular chlorine pool).
My understanding is that we see issues in Texas due to the porous nature of the rock here. I would think that a glass tile wouldn't have these issues.

I've been told that if all rock is sealed when the pool is built it fares much better. My builder is recommending DuPont stone sealer to do this. He also mentioned it should be resealed every 3 years and that it needs to be cleaned with a pressure washer and let dry without getting salt back on it before applying the sealer.

Hope that helps a bit. I've been debating whether to switch to chlorine too but like I said saltwater pools have been much better on my skin.

Thank you cbink! This is good information and some good suggestions! I will talk to my PB and see what he thinks. I agree, salt is so much better for the skin and it's my preference so far.

Our pool has a lot of glass mosaic tile, it covers the entire tanning portion and parts of the steps. We also have travertine. Our pool is Saltwater and we have not had any issues. We do have to seal the travertine every 6 months. We were going to do a beach entry but we were told not to use flagstone with the salt. We ended up with the beautiful tiled tanning area.
