Hi Piaa, how big of an area do you have to work with to put the steps in? That will affect the rise and run of the steps. I've heard that uneven steps are a big cause of falls (on land) and I think that would not be much better in the water, because you are expecting one thing but then your foot finds another. It's probably ok for you, but your guests might fall.

We had a brief discussion on steps on the linked thread below and I measured mine and posted a pic. My pool is 42" deep (to the top of coping, not to the water) and my steps are really well-planned, I think. (I didn't build this pool, it's 40 years old).
