Replacement pool pump motor

Had a Sta Rite 1-1/16 HP motor go bad last night, kept tripping the thermal overload. I called my pool guy and asked if he could look at it the next day. Well he ended up showing about 6:30 last night and agreed it needed to be replaced. He had a motor on his truck and replaced it with a non sta rite motor but same rpm and 1 hp.

Question is how bad did I get hosed as I about fell down when he gave me the bill. He replaced the motor, impeller and shaft seal in about 45 minutes to an hour and he said he stopped because he was already in the area. He charged me 350 bucks for the motor, 70 bucks for the impeller, not sure about the shaft seal but the total bill was 540 bucks.

How much did I pay for having someone else do it quickly? Just curious what it cost me to not have to take the day off work, find a motor, impeller, shaft seal and do the labor myself. What would some of you charge for this service?
