gunite spa and pool hole patching

hey guys, we are finally getting to see what is in the bottom of our pool that has been filled in with dirt for the last 20 years.
there are a couple of rather large holes in the bottom for drainage which we would like to fix and add a spa. my thoughts are, maybe since we will be breaking out gunite to add the spa structure we will already be breaking out existing, adding rebar and shotcrete it may not be such a big deal to patch the holes in bottom at the same time at a minimal extra charge.
any thoughts?
