So, anyone with some heater experience please advise.

I replaced the heat exchanger tub and manifold on a pentair mastertemp 400. New insulation too, everything went fine. But...I broke the ignitor. We have 30 7 year olds coming on Thursday at 11 and I wont get the new one from Amazon in time to heat the pool from 72 to the balmy 86 that my spoiled 1st grader likes (yes unbelievable, Amazon has the mastertemp ignitor).

So, not looking for a safety lecture, but can I take the broken ignitor out, start up the heater and light it with a propane torch in the ignitor hole, then quickly jam the broken ignitor back into the hole? Will flame shoot out the hole? I'm guessing no, but am I the only idiot in a position to try this?

I could probably get a universal ignitor from grainger, but I doubt it would fit exact and I dont want to drill a new hole in the top of the tub.

John
