We built a new pool March of this year and had Black Onyx Diamond Brite installed. We have been brushing it 1-2 times per day since March 8th. The pool is very smooth and does not have any exposure of the aggregate hardly anywhere. The only place it is "slightly" exposed is in the spa. There is also a great deal of color variation throughout the bottom of the pool. There are even some perfect white spots in the shallow end. The tanning ledge, spa and walls look black, but the bottom of the pool has streaks of white everywhere. We filled the pool with water from a pond on our property because it was our only option. It took 3 weeks of daily treatments etc from a pool company and finally a chemical treatment that caused flocculation of the clay particles to get the water to clear up. We have been told that what we need to do is drain the pool and do an acid wash. This is not an option for us because we have NO way to fill it again. We subcontracted the building of the pool on our own with the help of a pool plumber. Therefore, we have no leverage with the plaster installer and after a month of trying to get him to come look at the pool (with us willing to pay for what needs to be done) he will not return any of our phone calls. We are desperate and getting closer and closer to pool season and not wanting to cut into that based upon what remedy we need to apply. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. We have spent so much money and do not have what we wanted or what we were told we were going to get plus the streaking just looks bad. Thanks for your time in advance.
