We finished our pool last July. We have one side of the pool with only coping...so basically no deck and instead a long edge of flower beds. This year the plants have matured, and we have had mild temps so far. We have quite a few ropy poly bugs getting into the pool, despite keeping it covered with our auto cover most of the time.

For those who have minimal pool edges -- do you have any tips / tricks to minimize the debris & insects into the pool? Are some plants better than others?

I planted some Lamb's Ear plants and they have taken off. More than I would like, even though they are lovely. I'm thinking they are prime environment for the bugs.
