picking out pool equiptment

I am trying to sign the contract so I can move forward with the pool build. I am worried about the pool equip. choices. What are the thoughts on Hayward pool heaters. I feel the pool equip. is a big decision and I have not done much research (spent too much time figuring out size and shape). Advice please.
