Plaster/Waterfall Stains

Hi All,

See the attached picture. This was taken two days after the plaster was applied to our pool. The day of plaster, there were no stains.

PB has told us that as the chlorine level rises, it will easily remove the stains. They've also told us that, if chlorine doesn't do the trick, then we should use a pumice stone...after 30 days.

We have a SWCG system (not yet working, since we're only about 10 days post plaster), so I'm not sure that the chlorine will ever be high enough.

Thoughts/recommendations? We want the PB to fix this and feel that they should.

I feel for you. We have red dirt stains in our brand new pool. I read on line to use a crushed up chlorine tablet in a pantyhose and let it soak on the spot for about 15 minutes. It did help on some of the stains but not all. We were also told that the stains would fade with time. Or they could do an acid wash, but if they did that it would make rough spots. So, we are holding out to see the spots go away with some more time.

Thanks for the suggestions. PB mentioned the possibility of doing an acid wash, which I think THEY should do.

I've read that pumice stones should not be used anywhere near tile, as they will irreversibly scratch the tile. Not sure what the group thinks.

Is there anything that can be done with the stones in the waterfall to prevent this from occurring again?
