Do I lube chlorinator O-ring?

In the past I have been told not to lube the chlorinator O ring. They said that is the only O-ring to not lube because it reacts with the intense chlorine of the chlorinator. But lately I have been reading that you are supposed to lube it. I am confused. What does everyone else do. Thank you

Get some magic lube at your local pool store and lube it twice or so a season...
