Filters - Generic vs. OEM

Well it is time to change out the 4 filters in my Pentair 160340 Clean & Clear Plus. My local pool shop sells a generic version filter for $46 each, sale price right now, that they claim is as good if not better than the Pentair brand. I have a local online dealer about 15 minutes away that I can will-call the actual Pentair filters for about $57 each. Does it really make a difference, is there something special about the Pentair that makes it worth the extra money? Will the Pentair last longer or should I just save the 44 bucks?

Go for it! The worst that could happen really is that they break down a cycle or two sooner.
