Decking question...drain has sunk a little

We have noticed that one of the deck drains on our pool decking has dropped about 5/16ths of an inch lower than the deck. I assume it is from settling of the ground underneath and it is not a huge drop, but enough that someone could catch their toe or foot on it since it is not flush.

Has anyone had this before? I was thinking of getting a new drain topper and trim down some PVC and just connect those two to the top of the existing drain - so we would have 2 drain caps...one on top of the other separated by 5/16ths of an inch. Make sense? Any issues with this?
