SWG problem!

Don't rely on your panel for your salt level!!!
Two weeks ago, our AquaLogic panel had been reading "cell power error" every few days and it would take turning off the circuit breaker to clear the error and get the swg to start working again. Our pool builder had an electrician come out and he started by switching out the panel. Since the cell power error doesn't happen right away, we had to wait and see if it would happen again. Well, it did. Yesterday the electrician was back and switched out the SWG. This is when we realized the problem. The original swg was telling us we had 3100 ppm, right up until he unplugged it. It would fluctuate a little now and then- never under 2900. The new one said we had 2600. We took a water sample to the pool place and, sure enough, it was only 2600. They said this is probably why the old one lasted only 12 months. We were relying on what our system said, instead of checking it a different way. So next time you have your water tested, make sure your salt is what your system says it is.
Good thing we have a 3 yr warranty!!!
