For anyone who hasn't purchased a SWG system I prefer the Eccomatic system it functions with larger peramiters on the salt levels and the cell casing is clear plastic so you can see if it needs cleaning with out having to take it apart.

Skinnydipper - thanks for leading me to this thread. I do remember it now. Our panel is switched out so I guess now we will have to wait and see if it happens again like yours did. If it does, then we'll know it's the cell.

I think you'll find most pool professionals disagree with the functionality of the Ecomatic. The cell has to twist off rather than union off and that puts a lot of wear on the wire and terminals as most people do not disconnect them first. My 2 cents.

I think it's an aqualogic problem, myself. I haven't seen this problem discussed with the other brands.

Glad it was under warranty. IÂm just surprised that there are so many posts w/ SWG problems. Seams like a lot of maintenance compared to what the sales people state. It's so hard to get an obective opinion about SWG's. This forum has helped in our decision though.

I have the aqualogic, and my pool readings (temp, salt, etc) have been dead on everytime I take them to the pool store.
All I ever have to add to mine is acid occasionally.
I am very glad I put it in-Very little maintenance.

hindhaw - I dug up two old threads. You may have seen the same ones a couple of times.

I think the large majority of people here have an Aqualink/Aqualogic and without problems. You will also see posts with problems for other pieces of equipment, from all brands. These couple of posts are not reasons to not buy a salt system.

Fwiw, for us, as of yet, the salt cell itself is fine. It was an electrical problem.
