Ok guys we are contracting the complete pool build process. We live in Collin County city limits and we are trying to get inputs on this safety matter. We have two options for any door in the house going to the pool.
1st:
All doors leading into the pool area are equipped with an alarm. The alarm sounds continuously for at least thirty (30) seconds � or until the alarm is manually re-set (if the door closes within the 30 second period, the alarm continues to sound until completion of the 30 seconds or until the alarm is manually reset). The alarm is capable of being heard throughout the house during normal activities. The alarm automatically resets under all conditions. Burglar alarms are not acceptable for the alarm device.

2nd: All doors leading from the house to the pool area are equipped with self-closing and self-latching devices. The latch must be at least fifty-four (54) inches above the floor.

I wanted to get input on this and any tips or ideas would be very helpful.
