How can I add seating?

We had planned to tuck the spa up against both sides of our deck, but because the motor and plumbing are located on those sides, the spa is away from them in case repairs are necessary. I'm tired of stepping over the gap when getting into the spa :)
I'd like to create seating benches with removable/folding backs, so that we can finally button up this very old project. The gap is definitely a safety issue when entertaining guests. Does anyone have ideas?

Disregard the plywood area, it will be replaced with the same composite as the rest of the deck!

Can you rotate the spa so that the side where the motor access is on the outside? Then you can move the spa closer to the deck and eliminated the gap.

I wish I could, but the electrical would have to be moved.
