Pool Equipment Decisions

Posted by poolownerbuilder (My Page) on

I am in the process of building my own pool (Lord help me) and originally wanted to have Pentair equipment. I am hearing now that Hayward is less expensive and just as good as Pentair. Any recommendations anyone can give me would be much appreciated. We will have a heater and would like everything to be operated by remote control; if that helps.

I prefer Pentair over Hayward myself. You might want to look at the Jandy Equipment as well.

I agree only to the Hayward is less expensive part. I install Pentair equipment. Price vs value. your call.

Agreed, of the big 3, Pentair is still #1 and worth the small premium and then some. They aren't perfect but they are better overall, IMHO. I don't build them, I just fix them.

I'd say you heard wrong.

IMO, Jandy and Pentair have better products for just a little bit more money.
Note, there is no cheap pool equipment like Jacuzzi brand that is as good, and equally there's no slightly cheaper equipment like Hayward that's just as good.

Just my .02

See ya,

I have had Jandy everything for there years, one water temp sensor went out $100.00 to fix my self. Been very happy, no problem, controller very easy to use.

You may want to also consider the head pressure, Hayword pumps do not like much head pressure and tend to get very noisy, the Pentair variable speed pump purrrrrs like a kitten even with a considerable amount of head pressure.

Good Luck,
Cip

I should always go with my instincts. Pentair it is.

Thanks everyone
