I'm in Atlanta and keep the pool open year round (not to swim, but just prefer to not cover it). When it gets too cold for salt to generate chlorine, I want to throw in some 3 inch chlorine tablets to boost the chlorine level. But I am now wondering if this will cause any problems or, if it is OK to do, how to put the tablets in the pool. The container that the tablets come in says to not put them directly in the pool or in the skimmer basket as damage will occur. i don't have any type of chlorine delivery system as the pool is salt and I just want to supplement with these tabs during very cold weather. Any thoughts on how else would I do this?
