Wow, your pool is beautiful. For the flower beds under the windows, I would plant some small flowering perrenials (sp) so it doesn't block the view out of the window and so that you don't have to replace them every year.

The "patio" window...the part that is all brick to the left of the opening, I would put a red leaf banana tree. We are in the DFW area and ours has thrived over the past two years. For the part under the opening, I would go to a nursery and ask what perenials or annuals, depending on if you want a change every year, would not grow more than 3 feet or so. Or you could do a flowering shrub and just trim it back every year. Something like an indian hawthorne.

I hope that helps you. I'm still trying to figure out how I am going to do the landscaping around our pool when it is finished.

You might want to check out the arboretum and some of the "better" garden centers in your area for landscaping ideas. They can recommend plants that will work in shade/sun and at different levels of moisture (not sure if you have sprinklers in your beds). Check your library or bookstore for *local* gardening book/magazines with lots of pictures.
