Hi all, yet another Fleck 5600 SXT setup question.
I bought a Fleck 5600 SXT 40,000 online.
We don't have a water softener in this house now so this is new and I need a little help.
Hardness here is 20 grains. Actually it is very hard city water but the consensus in the neighborhood is 20 grains is the correct setting. Some have tested 24 grains but setting the water softener to that uses too much salt.
My Fleck water softener was preset to hardness 20 grains like I asked.
But they have the Capacity at 40- and I was told it should be set to 25K.
Also they set the brine fill to 12 and I was told 5 mins.
Other than those 2 settings everything looks standard based on all I have read.
Also- the brine line connection to the valve (connecting the tube using the self tightening nut) doesn't seem to be the tightest connection. If you tug you can pull the tubing out - I'm thinking that is going to cause a problem- has anybody experienced this.
thanks!
