What is the proper way to plumb this?

I am installing a new vessel sink and the existing p-trap doesnt line up exactly with my old undermount sink. I guess i could cut the brass trap arm and extend it to fit directly under the new drain, but i was wondering if if there are any proper alternatives. Can i use a 45 degree corner at the end of the fixture drain, angle it towards the trap, then use another 45 degree corner to attach it to the trap? Or can i use a 90 degree corner coming directly out of the drain, a few inch horizontal run to another 90 degree, then vertical drain into the p-trap? I have about 3 inches of distance between the existing p-trap and the new drain - any help would be appreciated. Thx
