This is an image of my garbage disposal's drain outlet. Obviously there is a lot of corrosion going on. I have removed the gasket, as it was almost destroyed. My question is, is the irregular shape of the plastic part inside the hole normal or is something terribly wrong? We are remodeling the kitchen and the disposal was working fine before we took it out. Now I am concerned that since I took it apart and scraped off some of the corroded stuff that I wont be able to get a good seal again. And that twisty shape of the drain is concerning too, unless that is normal...
