Hot water / cold water

My problem is similar to another post. I have 1 facuet in the bathroom that is the furthest away form the hot water heater. It has 2 levers, 1 for hot, 1 for cold. When i turn on the hot water lever to get hot water, it takes forever. Maybe this is becuase it is so far away form the hot water heater.
After i have nice hot water coming out in the sink, if I turn it off and then need to use it again it comes out cold and takes forever to get hot again. No other faucet does this. In other words, i have hot water, i turn off the facuet, and maybe 30 seconds later i turn on the hot water lever again, and it is cold already.

Just like the other guy said, how can it be cold when the whatever line leading from the hot water heater to that bathroom is filled with hot water. It cannot cool that fast. I am in florida also and it is always hot and humid here.

Any ideas please?

RE: Hot water / cold water

If you have a mixing valve, it could be the cause, but one of the main causes of this is the washing machine valve. Turn it off and see if the problem resolves.

If not, turn off all the shut-off valves to every sink and shower in the house, except the one you are testing. Then open them one at a time until the problem shows up again. Chances are, you've isolated the bad one.
