Our house has two 50-gal Rheem gas water heaters, plumbed in tandem. They are 12 years old.

We also have a circulating pump -- replaced last summer after a city water project had water turned off for most of a day, burning out the old pump.

I don't believe we need two 50-gal heaters. Although the house has three tubs/showers, we are two Senior adults, and we don't plan on selling soon.

One of the heaters is leaking from the top; pretty sure it's history. Plumber is coming today.

What do you suggest we do now? What brands, sizes, costs? I would still like to have two heaters for the 'back up' benefit, but maybe that's not logical.
