Sewage Pipe repair

I have a piece of property with a Septic tank and drain field, I was trying to locate the Septic tank for inspection and pumping, and in the process I broke the main sewer pipe, 4" PVC so now I need to repair this, 3'' Section Is it legal to use Fernco fittings in the ground ?

I really would like to install a clean out, is there an easy way to do this ?

If you are doing it yourself,why worry about it? If you are hireing it out,let them make the call. The fitting will last as long as the rest and is less likly to pull apart from shifting ground than dwv pipes.
