Hi, All:

Just purchased a home in central MA that has a private well (c. 1992). We are looking for advice on the best water softening system for our home (4 bed, 2.5 bath, 2 adults, 2 kids). Had a Kinetico rep in the house...good product, but too expensive for us (our budget is ~$1500-2000, he quoted ~$3750). Previous owner had no treatment system in the house. We recently had a jaswell seal installed and new well cap.

Recent water test results showed the following:

Hardness 165.5 mg/L
Sodium 39.08 mg/L
Potassium 3.34 mg/L
Iron .44 mg/L
Manganese .35 mg/L
Magnesium 4.28 mg/L
PH 7.96
Turbidity .16 NTU
TDS 410

Have heard good things about Kenetico (too expensive) and Fleck systems. We plan to be in the house for 3-5 years.

Any/all advice much appreciated.
