It has been posted that we don't want to run out of soft water during a shower or while doing a load of laundry. Why? It would only happen very infrequently. I have lived with out soft water for many years so a little hard water for a few hours before the next recharge seems like a very small issue.
I want the system efficient. When the sodium is used up I want the system to recharger at 2AM the next morning or perhaps immediately. I can live with 50 - 75 gallons of hard water a few times a year. I don't want to waste capacity pumping unused sodium down the drain.
It is a matter of just setting the reserver value on my Fleck 5600SXT to zero?
