How many Drains Are needed in 4.5 8 4.5 shower

We are in the middle of a renovation ...and our GC walked out - (after many lies and many months and taking more money than the job has cost to date...).
so now we are trying to pick up the pieces in one of the bathrooms which is still rough - the shower is 4.5 * 4.5' - there is currently 1 drain and the mud job was done - using vinyl pan.
A new opinion we got was one center drain in that size shower - that has a rain shower and a wand - will NOT suffice. - is this true?
He also felt that the vinyl pan was too "just" and didn't come up high enough - what is standard?
Anyone coming to our home now - knows we are sort of anxious to get done - but we can'd afford to get conned into anything - I don't feel like tearing out the base if I don't have to - we have a TON to deal with. Please advise.

One drain is just fine. It should be 2" pipe nowadays, though 1.5" will still drain ok for that set-up. If you have body sprays, it would be another story and you would really need the 2" pipe. The pre-fab pan height is likely fine, too.

It's not a prefab it was a mud job with them laying a vinyl pan - see attached... In not sure if its 2 or 1.5 I guess I would need to measure. We have a rain shower and a grohe handheld wich has two of its own heads.

Still lots to do there. Is it sloped to the drain? Instead of a GC, you might want to find a professional tile guy or company. You might also post this on the john bridge tile forums. They know their stuff.
