gas dryer originally connected with 3/8" pipe, Can I use 1/2" one

I am moving to newly bought house. The kenmore elite gas dryer was originally connected with 3/8" gas connector.

I bought the BrassCraft safety+plus gas installation kit with green safety+plus valve(60,500BTU) and 1/2" gas connection pipe. Can I use this? The kit comes with 3/8" adapter. Or is it better to buy the 3/8" gas connector with purple safety+plus valve (23,800 Btu)? My dryer's output is 22000 Btu.

If you consider the leak shut off feature important,go with purple which is capiable of almost twice flow required. Both are supposed to stop gas flow at 95k btu so techinaly,the green could allow a 65k leak without closing flow. I don't trust the feature to prevent an uncontroled leak wherther it is sized correctly or not.
