I would like to add a sink about 8 linear feet away from my washer. I had a plumber in doing another repair, and glanced over it and said it was a little far to run the plumbing, but do-able, he thought. I know -- or think I know -- that a washer has to drain into a fairly tall pipe. That is my only drain in the room. Can the new sink drain into that same pipe? And if so, would you simply alter the tall pipe so that the sink's drain line tee'd into it? This has been puzzling me.
