Pumping Septic Tank question?

Hi there,

As I understand it typical septic tanks generally have 2 chambers and the pumping service generally pump out the main chamber every 5 years. Is it ever necessary to pump out the 2nd chamber (the one that feeds the distribution box)? Please do correct me if my understanding of the 2 chamber system is incorrect.

Conventional septic systems (aposed to arobic systems) use 1-2 or 3 tanks depending on local code at time of install.
2 tanks are very common. Regardless how many tanks,ALL OF THEM are supposed to be pumped.
