Toilet filling problem

Posted by cheerful1 (My Page) on

After my toilet flushes, you can loudly hear the water filling up the tank, but it takes about 2 minutes before it stops. The tank does not overflow, neither does the bowl.

The problem does not happen in the early morning hours, only in the afternoon and evening.

I'm at a loss as to what the problem is.

RE: Toilet filling problem

If it's a FluidMaster brand flush valve, they occasionally need replacement of the seal located under the cap at the top of the unit. the seal starts to stick and not fully open. The seals are available at most locations that sell the replacement valve assemblies.
