Weird Toilet Leakage

Posted by CJsDaddy (My Page) on

I have a 7-year old toilet. It has been doing this odd thing where water is trickling down the inside of the bowl from the front rim. It isn't draining the tank and the toiled never runs extra but I am hearing an occasional drip when it's quiet.

I'm seeing deposits (calcium? I don't know) on the metal parts inside the tank but am not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Thanks for any help or advice offered.

The link is to my foundation. Probably not helpful in this situation. :-)

RE: Weird Toilet Leakage

Put a few drops of food coloring into the toilet tank and see if the water in the bowl turns color after a while.

If it does then the flapper valve is leaking.
