Hand Shower Roman Tub installation Help, please

This is a question for new construction. I have an American Standard Town Square roman tub filler w/ handshower. The plumber installed the hot and cold faucets and spout on one corner of the tub and the handshower on the other.

The problem with this is the braided hose that connects to the faucet isn't long enough for this installation, so the braided hose ends about halfway across the tub (underneath) and the handshower hose is shortened to make up the loss. This means when I pull the handshower out of its holder, it only stretches about halfway down the tub. I was hoping to use this handshower to help with cleaning the tub and would like it longer.

What do I need to do? Is there an extension I can find? Or would any 7' handshower hose work? Are they all compatible? Nobody around here sells Am. Std., so I'd have to order something quickly online or find something locally of a different brand.

Thanks in advance!
