We're coming to the end of our kitchen makeover, and yesterday I arrived home to see that our contractors had installed the water line to the refrigerator over the top of the dishwasher, which means it will be sitting between the dishwasher top and our granite counters. This makes me very nervous. I foresee potential problems here. The $$$dishwasher has an electric panel on top, so a water line sitting on this seems wrong, to me. And, if the line were to rupture at any point or when we need to replace the refrigerator (which is three feet from the dishwasher, on the same wall) how would we remove/replace the water line if it is under the granite? Wouldn't it make sense to simply run the line at the base of the cabinet, in back of the dishwasher and adjacent cabinet, and come through that cabinet to the fridge? This just looks like a disaster waiting to happen. Do I insist that the contractors run the line at the base, not under the granite/on top of the dishwasher? Help!
