second water meter

Im about to install a water line from my house, underground to the garage 40 feet away. I would like to install a water meter somewhere for that second line so that if I would develop a leak I may know having a water meter installed..??????? any suggestions????? and if there is such an inexpensive meter out there for this small project where to purchase one thank you the water line to the garage is so i can hook up a garden hose to water the garden which is located behind our garage.... Im using 1/2" pex tubing

If you're running pex you can put an inline flow meter in - you won't get a running total, but you can see if there is any flow in the circuit.

Now I'm not sure If you're going to see a pin leak in the system, but they have different flow rates available.

No personal experience, just seen them listed.....
