Thoughts regarding AO Smith Water Heater

Our builder will be installing an AO Smith 40 gallon electric water heater. He did give us the option to pay $350.00 more for a 50 gallon high recovery (actually provides 75 gallon of water) water heater. Should I be asking him for a different brand? Is the investment of the high recovery water heater worth it? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I installed a 50 gallon LP A.O. Smith in 1996. It has been fed a diet of 26-45 gpg water softened to ZERO hardness and has performed perfectly all this time while neighbors are replacing their WHers every 2-3 years.

That said, my next WH will be a Bradford White. I prefer products made in the USA and English speaking customer service. I've spoken to BW and they have been very helpful in recommending the exact water heater I'll want based on use, fuel, and altitude and even which local dealers stock that exact water heater.
