Why is it 'blowing water all over the laundry room'? Cracked casing or blown seal? A repair might be all you need.

Just a leaking seal. The pump is 60 years old. The Master motor that drives it uses carbon brushes that I have replaced. I just figured the pump impeller is probably more like a flat plate after 60 years of very hard water, but it might be worth a look. In either case I have to take it loose! I hadn't really considered repair because of its age. This is one of those two-pipe wells, and I am getting fairly low output and pressure. The pump runs constantly if a hose is open, and the hose only runs about half or less normal flow.

That is a jet pump.
