 o
replace ABS elbow in drain

A 45 degree elbow from the sink drain in my crawlspace is leaking very slowly and it needs repaired. I know that after I cut the leaking section out, there will be a short length of pipe (1-2") missing, so I'll be unable to fill the void with a replacement elbow. Do I need to attach a coupling to one end of the elbow to make up for the gap? Plumber wanted $215 to fix the leak, and I am not willing to pay that much w/o having a go at it myself.

Get a flexible connector (Fernco).
