I see no problem. I installed a one single handle faucet on the right side of a ladies kitchen sink for easier access for her.

I made a quick drawing to give you an idea of what I did. I chose a single handle faucet to allow her to easily use both hot and cold water without having to reach over the spigot to turn the hot water on.

The red shows the location of the faucet in relation to the single bowl sink.

Wow, I can't thank you enough. Your drawing shows something I hadn't thought of and that is the faucet separate from the valve. This placement makes it even easier to reach. I am going to print this out and take it to the plumbing suppy store and the guys building my house. Thank you for your time - we are very grateful and you will be famous in Maine.

The faucet I installed was similar to this single handle Kohler. The round red circle is where I installed the soap dispenser to allow easy access to the pump and for refilling.

If you can imagine the faucet placed on the right side of the sink and the spout facing the sink. It places the handle toward the front edge of the counter top.

The nice Kohler soap dispenser we bought will have to be repurposed because there is no access because of our sink and cabinetry layout. Your idea is great. Here is the photo - sorry my purse got in the way of showing how the little drawer and cabinet screwed up the dispenser. Thanks again for your encouragement.
