 o
no clip install stainless steel kitchen sink

To make this brief, I am trying to replace my kitchen sink. Laminate coutertops, hole is right size but there is no overlap of countertop to attach sink clips.
There is 1/2" thick base cabinet wood walls on either side so I was thinking of routing or chiseling little notches to fit the sink clips and give them something to bite into.
Then I thought an easier way would be to go ahead and silicone the sink in place and then put a 5 gallon bucket of water in each bowl to provide weight and let it sit for 12-24 hours.
Any ideas??

I used the 'glue it with caulk' technique about 15 years ago and have had no problems. Removing the sink, however, would probably end up with its edges being bent up beyond reuse.
When trying the notch technique, I found it difficult to impossible to work in the narrow space available to square up the clips.
YMMV
