United Water keeps sending me applications for "LeakGuard" - broken water pipe insurance at $42 annually. Anyone have a position on whether this is worthwhile?
That is a fantastic deal. In Ohio where my Mother lives the gas company offers a similar service which they call "Line Backer Insurance" and their Line backer covers all buried lines.
In the last three years Mother has had her gas line, water supply line and her sewer line all replaced and it did not cost her anything save for the few cups of coffee she gave the workmen while they were out there in the snow digging trenches.
On the other hand, if your water line should break and you don't have that insurance it could cost you 2 or 3 thousand dollars to have a new line put in.
