Commode changeout

Neighboring couple are in their late 70s. Their house was built in 1968 with one bathroom. The original commode is really low height and they want a taller one. The commode has 4 hold-down bolts and a large base. The DWV is no-hub cast iron with accessible basement under the bath. Replacing the toilet flange will be very easy if it proves to be necessary.
But a new toilet will have a smaller base and the vinyl floor will clearly show base outline of the original toilet. Any solutions other than replacing the vinyl? It is in really good condition.
