Running drain vent lines through attic?

We are adding a 2nd bathroom to our 1-story home. The bathroom has a vaulted ceiling and then opens up into the attic space. We need to run the 2" PVC vent line through the ceiling and then through the attic to tie in to the main stack.

All the books I have read do not say where the vent line should be positioned- against the under side of the roof (high)? against the rafters (low)? Do we just secure them with pipe strap? Thanks for the help!

PVC requires the correct PVC hangers.

Location also depends on attic temperatures in the winter.

How cold will it get?

The pipe also must be pitched to drain, just like every other part of the DWV system.
