Choosing a Gas Water heater

Hi All,

I'm shopping for a new 50 gal tank gas water heater. 6, 9 or 12 year? is it worth the extra money to get the supposedly longer life? Rheem, whirlpool or GE? Any specific models within these categories? If anyone has opinions please share.
